FearTigers are the largest members of the cat family. People like tigers because of their beauty. People also fear tigers because they tend to kill. What is not commonly known, is that today it is rare for tigers to kill because they're also afraid of humans.

Georgraphy Tigers lived in all parts of the Asian continent until the 1800's. Then they migrated to the south half of the continent. Tigers do not live in Iran or Pakastan anymore.

Captivity People have killed tigers overtime and are almost extinct. Tigers are simple to breed and raise in zoos.Cubs are raised in zoos. Tigers perform in circuses. People today don't breed tigers anymore,most are born in captivity.

Body of a Tiger Adult male tigers weigh about 420 lbs. and are about nine feet long, including a three foot tail. Female tigers can weigh about 300 lbs. and are about eight feet tall. Their coat colors can be either brownish-yellow or orange-red. Each tiger has an individual stripe coat much like a person's finger print! Male tigers have shaggy hair around their face. In Siberia, it can be very cold, so tigers have shaggy winter coats.

ClimateTigers can live in any climate. the resourses that a tiger turley needs is shade water and food. Some tigers live in forests in Thailand. Some live in the hot dry woods in India. Other tigers live in hot to cold climates. In general tigers like shade and open plains just like lions.
