I was born in Milan, Ohio on February 11, 1847.

Below is a QuadruplexTelegraph. Edison invented it in 1874. A quadruplex telegraph is a type of electrical telegraph that is able to send four different signals at once!

Thomas Edison became deaf in one ear somehow, but nobody truly knows how. Some think he caught scarlet fever when he was young. Others think that someone grabbed his ears and threw him on a train!

I invented the carbon transmitter in 1877. That makes it easier to understand what someone is saying when you are on the phone.

When Edison was 12, his job was to sell apples, newspapers, and candy on a train!

In 1878, Edison invented the incandescent light bulb. This was helpful because that meant nobody had to use whale oil anymore!

Thomas Alva Edison died on October 18, 1931. He was 84 years old.
