Thermodynamics!
1st Law of thermodynamics states that energy is conserved.
The second law states that heat moves from hot to cold. If work is done however, cold can move to hot.
The third law states that the lowest temperature, absolute zero, cannot be reached
Thermodynamics-the study of the effects of work, heat, and energy on a system.Absolute zero- the lowest temperature that is theoretically possible, although scientists have never actually reached it, and may never reach it.Entropy-the measure of disorder in a system.
Temperature- the measure of how hot or cold an object isHeat- energy that is added to an object to make it rise in temperatureCalorie- a unit of heat to indicate the amount of energy that food will produce in the human body
Kinetic Energy-energy accociated with motionExothermic- characterized by or formed with the evolution of heatEndothermic- charcterized by or formed with the absorption of heat
Calorimeter-a device used for measuring heat produced during a reactionEnergy- usuable power theat comes from heat, electricity, etc.Potential energy-the energy that something has because of its position or way its parts are arranged
