The Ugly Side of Charles I
Unfair Taxes
Charles I raised money for the war but did so in an unreasonable fashion. He didn't even bother to consult with Parliament and found loop-holes around their rules! He implemented all-year-round ship taxes, when before they were only put in place during the war!
"Divine King"
Charles I claimed to be a King of Divine rights, which is a king who was supposedly sent to earth by god to rule. These kings believe they they may rule as they please, which gets him into arguments with Parliament very often.
Dislikes Parliament
Charles I has gotten into so many arguments and dislikes the ways of Parliament so much that he has disbanded them three times! Once because Parliament refused to give him money because of his bad ways!
