-The typewrite was originally invented for the blind.-The first typewriter proven to have worked, was built by an Italian man by the name of Pellegrino Turri in 1808.-Numerous inventors in Europe and the U.S. worked on typewriters in the 19th century. The first successful commercial production with the "writing ball" made by a Danish pastor, his name was Rasmus Malling-Hansen in the 1870's.
In Todays World
After the invention came out in the 1860s, typewriters were in use everyday and not only for the home. They were used everyday by professional writers, in offices, and for business correspondence in private homes. By the end of the 1980s, word processors and personal computers had largely displaced typewriters, mostly in the Western world. As of 2010 research the typewriter is still frequently used in everyday use all over the eastern world, like in India.
Lasting Impact
The Typewriter is uncommonly used in todays world but the keyboard was invented with the same concept as the typerwriter to able to typeThe typewriter had a great impact on America's history because it increased the production of important literary pieces and written documents, the spreading of the knowledge

Its a maching that when you press a key a lever that’s attached called the hammer hits the key and it hits the paper, but before it hits the paper it hits an inked cloth called a ribbon so then it lifts up and sandwiches itself between the type and the paper so it wakes a print impression and when you let the key go the hammer goes back down

The typewrite was an important invention not only because it gave us what is the modern day typewrite, the keyboard, but in the era of this invention it let us send letters without the confusion of reading someones handwriting and it let us do it in less time.
