The Three Billygoats Gruff

The Three Billygoats Gruff is originated from Norway by Peter Christen Asbjornsen and Jorgen Moe. It was first published between 1841 and 1844. Peter and Jorgen met when they were 14 years old while they were both attending high school. When Peter found out that Jorgen was writing folklore, the friends began comparing results. It is usually said that the vigour parts come from Peter and the charm comes from Jorgen

History & Origin

In groups of 4, students will work to act out the story of the three billy goats. Students should add a twist to their reader's theater that makes it different from the original story. This should be a change in setting, character traits, or something that still follows the general plot structure. Students should write a script of their reader's theater to turn in. Students will act out their reader's theater for the class and the most creative skit will win!
