IntroductionYour team has been skating and training all year for the final round of the Stanley Cup! You wonder who will win the Stanley Cup... Do you think the Cup is named after somebody, if it is, he or she must be a special person. Some of the greatest and most experienced teams have won, but who do think has won the most? Two teams fight for the honor as the game begins!

How to get to the Stanley Cup It's a bad time to be in the playoffs. Why? Because here comes rivalry! The playoffs are a huge thing! You could make it to the Stanley Cup! At the beginning you have to be the top three teams in your division, then you will move on. There is also a wild card, the top two teams move on. Then finally comes the playoffs! There is sixteen teams at the beginning of the playoffs but then brakes down to 8,4 then the final two. After that you have 7 games against one team, but you could actually have 4,5 or 6 games. This is because the first team to win 4 games will move on to the next series, the quarterfinal series, against a different team. After you win the quarterfinal series you move onto the semifinal also against a different team. This is the series before the final round, the stanley cup. In the semifinal there is a ton of rivalry. This is because both of the teams are playing their hardest they have ever played to move onto the stanley cup Once again you can have 4,5,6 or 7 games to move onto the stanley cup. The stanley cup is here! Once you win 4 games you have won the most valuble thing in hockey the stanley cup! The winner jumps up and down and throwstheir gloves because their so thrilled they won the stanley cup. So if you ever wonder how to get to the stanley cup it takes a long time to get to it.

The Winners There are a variety of teams in the NHL. But, do you know who has won the most stanley cups? In fact thirty teams fom the NHL have never won a stanley cup. Also six teams have never even skated in the final round.(20%) But this must mean some teams have won alot of stanley cups. The Montreal Canaidiens have won the most honors with twenty four, as they still hold the record today. They are followed by the Toronto Maple Leafs with thirteen championships. Not far behind with eleven is the Detroit Red Wings, which still stand in 3rd with most championships. When you think of who has won the most honors you might think of other teams like the Pittsburg Penguins or the Chicago Blackhawks but when you dig down and think about it, you might be surprised what teams have won the most Stanley Cups.

Well, the Stanley Cup is made out of very important material that makes it so shiny! Which is silver and nickle alloy. Today it has a height of 89.54 centimeters. (35.25 Inches). Do you think it weighs alot? It doesn't, it only ways 34.5 pounds The person who invented the Stanley Cup must be a cool person. This person is Lord Stanley who established the cup in 1893. It was origanally commissioned in 1892 as the Dominion hockey challenge cup. The trophy was origanally named for Lord Stanley of preston. He is a man who is part of hockey and is the man who invented the stanley cup and which is also named after him. So when you think of a person who invented the Stanley Cup he must be a special person.
