Smooth Muscle-located in the hollow internal structures such as blood vessels-contract involuntarily (unlike skeletal muscles)
Bones-protect the body organs inside-206 bones in the body-red and white blood cells are made inside bones
Cardiac Muscle-forms the bulk of the wall of the heart-contracts involuntarily pumping blood throughout the body
Cartilage-tough flexible tissue that covers the ends of the bones at the joint-prevents bones from rubbing against each other
Skeletal Muscle-move and support the skeleton-links two bones across a connecting joint
Tendons-tough flexible band of fibrous tissue-connects muscle to bone-transfers force of muscle contraction to bone
Ligaments-tough fibrous cords made up of connective tissue-surround joints and bind them together-also connect one bone to another
