Savannas cover half of Africa and large amonts of North Australia, India and 2.5 million square kilometers of Brazil, Columbia and Venezuela. Some of the most known Savannas are the Serergeti plains of Tanazania and the Savannas of East Africa.

The savanna is home to many animals and plants.The savanna is covered in grasses such as the Rhode, Red Oat, Star and lemon grass. The animals of the savanna include zebras, gazzeles, cheetas, giraffes, rhinos, Emus, Wild Dogs, Crocodiles, lions, Koalas, Caracals and African Elephants, the biggest mammal in the world .The plants are the Jarrah, Gum and Eucalyptus trees. Other plants include the River Bushwillow and many shrubs.

The Savanna is a warm place with temperatures ranging from 68 fahrenheit to 86 fahrenheit. The Savanna has a 6-8 month wet summer season and a 4-6 month dry winter season.The savanna has an annual rainfall of about 25-75 cm.The savannas dry climate does not make it a suitable place for orchards.

Savannas are formed by humans or animals burning or destroying trees. Lightning often starts fires in savannas. Many herbivoreslive in the savanna because of the huge amount of grass. Because of the long dry season, many animals have long legs or wings to migrate into wetter places during the dry season.
