The First Punic War (264-241 BC) also known as the “Battle of Sicily”Began because of conflict between Rome and Carthage.

264 BC – Romans cross into Sicily260 BC – Roman navy uses corvus256 BC - Sea Battle of Cape Ecnomus, Rome wins255BC – Consul Regulus defeated by Xanthippus241 BC – Carthage tires of war, sues for peace

The Third Punic War (149-146 BC)This war was the beginning of the "army using techniques"

Romans took the city, killed it's men and enslaved ther women & children. The city was burnt to the ground, and, it was written, that the Romans sewed salt into the fields so nothing could grow there again. The great Carthaginian civilization ended.

The SecondPunic War(218-201 BC)Began because Hannibal crossed the Ebro River, this violated a treaty with Rome

218 BC – Spain with an army to attack Rome216 BC – Roman army defeated215 BC –Alliance broken with Rome215 BC-Macedonia allies with Hannibal214-212 BC – Roman siege of Syracuse202 BC – Scipio defeats Hannibal 201 BC –Carthage surrenders
