The Roaring 20's

The 1920's also known as the roaring twenties, where a time of great growth for Canadians. Electronics such as telephones and radios became very popular. Appliences like stoves , lights and refridgerators were more readily availabe. The foxtrot and Charlston were popular dances. The 'Talkies' came out providing sound in the movie industry.

During the 1920's The United States bammed the sale and comsumption of alcohol. The underground trading of alcohol between Canada and the US grew. Men called rum rummers would smuggle booze on boats and across land for money.

Lionel Conacher was voted Canadas greatest Athlete.

The Roaring20's

Women had strike restriction on what they could wear. Women known as Flappers had bob hair cut and dressed flamboyantly wearing short skirts

Dr. Frederick Banting discovered insulin

The Group of Seven were a group of famous painters.

Mackenzie King became Prime Minister. 1920s through the 1940s
