The Roaring Twenties

The Best of Times

The look of the Flapper was undeniable. These young woman began to cut their hair shorter and shorter,to shoulder length, as skirts went shorter and shorter, to the knee. More and more women used cosmetics and make up, and high heels were common too.

The league was formed within the National American Women Suffrage Association(NAWSA). This league was offical confirmed before the 19th amendment, and this gave women equality like the men.Women finally gained their rights after fighting for it for 57 years.

Back in the 1920s, flappers were women who cut their hair short(bobbed),wore shorter skirts, and wore red lipstick. They were dancers who kicked up their feet, dancing the Charleston, the most famous dance of the Roaring Twenties.

In the year 1919 Carrie Chaoman Catt created an organization to bring women together who were not being treated equally. The organization of the National American Women Suffrage Association had a goal to give women legal rights and wanted peace from war.

In the 1920s you can see women started to gain more equal rights. Women had got to work on machines they have never used instead of staying at home. When they were at home they would wash clothes, prepare food, and do other jobs.

Women had more opportunities after having the 19 amendment passed. Women got to do jobs that men did like gettting a chance to work on the assembly line. Which gave women a chance to show what they are capable of doing.

This is Carrie Chaoman Catt and she created an organization to bring women together who were not being treated equally.
