The right to live

If this right is taken away then people will have the right to murder and everyone should have the choice to live. It is the most important right as if it was taken away it would affect humans more than if any other human right was take away. Everyone deserves the freedom to be able to live in safety and to not have to worry about other human’s trying to kill them. If this right is taken away then we will actually not leave the house because we won’t feel safe. Imagine not feeling safe knowing that someone out there could kill you and there is nothing protecting you from this.

Article 3 is that: "Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person."

What is the right?

The Right to Live

Why is this right important?

The right to live is that no human being should take another human beings life. This right is mean to protect you if you feel at danger in a situation and you shouldn't have to feel at danger as you have this specific right.

Let's get specific!

The right to life is contained in article 6(1) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and article 1 of the Second Optional Protocol to ICCPR. Also article 6 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and article 10 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Others that protect the right to life are Death Penalty Abolition Act 1973 and Division 268 of the Criminal Code Act 1995.

The Bali Nine were convicted of a crime and sentenced to death row but the truth is that this breaks article 6 of the human rights as the government is still killing someone. It is mentioned throughout many human rughts dicuments that death penalties are still breaking human rights and it is unfair to their being.
