The Real Thanksgiving

The Native American tribe that was involved was the Wampanoag.They wore little clothing made out of natural materials, lived in round houses which two familys stayed in, and were very kind to the English Colonists.

The English Colonists needed help to survive from the Wampanoag. The Wampanoag helped teach them how to plant crops like corn.

Thanksgiving started in the year 1621. It was a harvest celebration. English Colonists and Wampanoag Native Americans helped each other through the year and became good friends. The REAL reason we celebrate thanksgiving is to celebrate their succsesful harvest and honor their friendship.
