The President of the United States of America

Historically the role of Chief Legislator has been the most important role of the president. Abraham Lincoln used his power to get the emancipation proclamation passed and FDR used his power as Chief Legislator to pass the legislation for the new deal. It has been the strongest role of the past presidents of the USA.

The most important role of the current president is the role of Chief Executive. President Obama has used this role to enact numerous and important executive orders such as his executive order on the new immigration policy. This is especially important for his term in office because of the gridlock that congress has been in for the past decade, in the 2011-2013 congress only 7 agreements were made in congress, compared to the average of 100 agreements per congress between 1947-2000. President Obama has effectively and efficiently utilized his powers as Chief Executive.

Who Is the Current President?? Today the President of the USA is Barack Obama, he was born August 4, 1961. He has degrees from Harvard Law School, Columbia University, and Occidental College. He served in the Illinois Senate from 1997-2008.

As Chief of State the president must be the figurehead of the USA and perform ceremonial tasks such as commending graduating scholars such as the one shown in the picture.

As Commander and Chief President Obama is responsible for all military actions that the USA takes and must consult with officers such as those in the picture.

As Chief Legislator President Obama appeals to congress for their vote on a bill.
