The Plan Y8 1st Term

The person that I designing the computer for is an industrial grade graphics designer making levels, graphics engine and characters. His workplace is implementing an upgrade to the software and his computer cannot work with the upgrade. He came to me and asked if I could help him and this is the plan for the rebuild. His budget is up to 10,000 dollars (US) because his workplace is funding it.

RAM 8GB 1600HZ (Kingston)

Xeon E3 (Intel)

Quadro K6000 (Nvidia)

The 1st Task:

The Plan

• Dual Monitors - ASUS VG248QE 24in Widescreen 144Hz 3D Monitor because they are needed for a high refresh rate (144HZ is really good and 24 inch provides a good view) and ASUS is a good brand• Quadro card in the NVidia range (Quadro K6000) • A good motherboard is needed but no need for an advanced logic board (Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard)• DDR3 RAM 8 GB 1600HZ because he does not need high GB of RAM but it should be reasonably good (Kingston, DDR3-1600HZ, 240-pin DIMM)• 1200 volts power supply unit because of the equipment in the computer requires high voltage - Cougar CMX1200 1200W Power Supply• One 120GB SSD (A-Data AS510S3-120GM-C) and one 1 TB HDD because he needs the operating system on the SSD and he needs a large HDD for the data which he is using (Hitachi Travelstar 1TB 2.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive)• A basic keyboard is all that is required• High end laser mouse for good reaction time• CPU should be from the Xeon range of Intel because Xeon is for an industrial grade CPU - Intel Xeon E3-1280• CPU cooler needs to be high quality because of the stress of the high use on the CPU (Corsair H60 74.4 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler)• The user needs a reasonable optical drive for installing programs (Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer)• Case Fan to cool the computer because it is under a high stress level (Fractal Design Silent Series R2 92mm Fan)
