The Spanish Inquisition started in 1478 and was suppressed in 1834. The justicfication of torturing people is to Purify them and force Catholicism onto the rest of the area. The main reasons that are mentioned are political and Religious. These religion forcers are believed to be responsible for 2,000 spaniards.

Edgar Allan Poe is a writer/poet who bases most of his short stories on creepy events. He was born in the middle of the Spanish inqusition on January 19, 1803. By the age of 3 he was a foster child which had an impact on his writings. His first collection of poems was released in 1827, named Tamerlane and Other poems.
