[2014] Amy T: the pinjarra battle

A long time ago there was a fight between the new settelments and the Nyungar people.

The Pinjarra Battle

The Pinjarra battle happened on the 28th Oct 1834 at the Nyugarra territory Pinjarra. The Pinjarra territory was near the Swan River Colony.

The colonists were involved. They included Thomas Peel, GovernorStirling, Captain Ellis and troopers.

The other people who were involved were the Nyungar people who were the Indigenous Australians.

The Nyungars went to fight for their land and the resources to survive because the colonist went in to the Nyungars ancient territory with their cattle and their sheep.

The colonists moved in the Nyungars ancient territory with their cattle and their sheep because they were hunting down the Nyungars animals to eat. They were also looking for the best farm land to expand the colony.

I learned that the Pinjarra Battle happened on the 28th Oct 1834 in the Nyungar Campsite.I also learned the people involved in the Pinjarra Battle were Thomas Peel, Captain Ellis, Indigenous Australians, the Nyungars, the Colonists and the Euorpean settlements. Also the Nyungars went to fight for their land. Also I learned that the colonists went in the Nyungars ancient territory to hunt down the Nyungars animal and to find the best farm land to expand the colony.
