The Outsiders

The OutsidersBy Brooklyn Lennox

Remember when I say stay gold.

Dally Knows how to do it.

Lets do it for Johnny man!

Keep calm and be a greaser.

Were tough, were loyal, were greasers.

About me and my peer relationsI personally can relate to how the young adults in the novel are refered as Greasers or Socials. In my previous school some the students in the school were labled into groups just like the book. Another connection I have to the book is how all the boys stick together and treat eachother like family, that is a lot similar to my friends and I, when ever I go over to my friends her mom treats me like I'm her daughter. I realled enjoyed reading The Outsiders, it was a great novel, I had a lot of connections to it and I would definetley recommed it to a friend or family member!

Cause were greasers and were proud.

I wish I was an outsider.

We all see the same sunset.

I'm not much of a big reader myself, when I was recommended the book I thought I would give it a try and read it. As soon as I started to read the first page I knew I would like it, my three favorite characters in the book are Ponyboy, Soda, and Dally. I like Dally because he seems like a guy that would be a good friend, he might do bad things but I liked how he really cared about Johnny. I like Ponyboy because well, who doesnt? He's the main character of the book and also I can relate to him. I like Soda because he just seems so sweet and kind, he also seems like a nice guy!

My feelings on the book were mixed, when I first started reading the book I thought it was just going to be an average book because I never really was the biggest reader and really felt good or bad for characters in books. While I was reading about when the author described Johnny's childhood and what was going on at home with him and his parents I felt really upset because I know that in the real world some kids are going through the same this as Johnny. I also felt bad that Ponyboy and his brothers' parents died and the three of them had to fight with the goverment so that they could stay together.

The Outsiders, novel by S. E. Hinton

I think that if a person is to be seen hanging out with another person or groupthey should not be labled. Such as the novel how either the kids are labled as'Socials' or 'Greasers'. I think that anyone can be friends with anyone if they so desire with no lables intended. If a person has a good reputation or a bad reputation it should not effect the person he or she is friends with or hangingout with.
