Alzheimer's DiseaseALzheimer's is a progressive disease that deteriorates one's memory, thinking, and reasoning ability. It affects men and women almost equally. There is no cure, but there are drugs that can lessen or temporarily alleviate the symptoms. There are also drugs that can help to prevent one from getting Alzheimer's. Most people that get Alzheimer's die within 7-10 years of diagnosis, but some may live for longer or shorter periods of time.
