The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner

Thomas wakes up in a place called the Glade without any memories of his past. The Glade is surrounded by a maze filled with beasts.

Each day, a new boy is brought to th Glade. Each person is given a task. Thomas is assgned to be a runner. Runners map out and try to plan ways to get out of the maze without coming in contact with the beasts.

Friendship is the most important aspect of this book. Without the help of his friends that he made in the Glade, Thomas would have been all on his own in a strange new world trying to navigate the maze alone.

The boys of the Glade prepare to close the Doors so the beasts don't come in during the night.

Each boy in the Glade has a certain job and each person contributes something important to the self-susstained community.

In one part of the book, Thomas's best friend in the Glade sacrifices himself to a beast to save Thomas. This is the greatest act of friendship and bravery.
