Interesting Facts/Importance in HistoryThough Abraham Lincoln was a well-respected attorney and president, he did not graduate college. As attacks began to strike Fort Sumer, the only goal of President Lincoln's was to unite the nation. For the next few years he proudly stood behind his military and backed every decision. As the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln played a huge role in the abolishment of slavery. Because of this courageous act, he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth, a Confederate advocate, on April 15, 1865.
