The Life and Times of Mary Shelley

Mary Shelley Born: London England.Parents: William Godwin,Mary Wollstonecraft. ( They were both writers and their work was known)- Mary's mother married her spouse to have legal rights. Mary's mother died a month after giving birth to her.Her father believed in cultivating her intellect and surrounded her throughout childhood with well-known thinkers, writers, and poets. When she was four, her father remarried.In 1814, when Mary was seventeen, she met Percy Bysshe Shelley,In 1815 Mary gave birth twice, once to a premature daughter that died as an infant, and later to a son named William. Percy and Mary wed in 1816, after Percy’s first wife killed herself. After this Mary's life went on.

Accomplishments

1797- Mary is born1814 - She met Percy1815- She gave birth to her twins1816- She married Percy 1817 - Frankenstein is published 1818 - Mary and Percy weren't accepted by the family and left to Italy 1822- Percy died and left her alone.

- Mary became a notorious writer.- She influenced writers to be more emotionally involved in their writing. - Her biggest accomplishment is writing Frankenstein.

Hardships and Obstacles

Mary wrote romantic poems and terror/horror tales, which influenced other writers.
