The Interdependence of Organisms

- Organisms depend on each other as well as on minerals, nutrients, water, gases, heat, and other elements of physical surroundings.

- Ecosystems are communities to living things

- All organisms interact with other organisms

- A species cannot live alone, they depend on other species in order to survive

- All living things depend on their enviroment to supple them with what they need including food, water, and shelter

- Symbiosis is a close relationship between organisms of different species in which at least one of the species benefits

- Competition is a relationship between living things that depend on the same resources

- Living things that cannot make their own food must eat other organisms for food

- Competition occurs whenever two species tries to get the same resources in the same place and at the same time

- Carbon dioxide is a main by product to all organisms
