The Hunger Games is the first novel in a projected trilogy, and introduces readers to a futuristic dystopian society where an overpowering government controls the lives and resources in twelve different districts. Each year, as punishment for the now demolished District 13's attempted rebellion, two children (between 12 to 18 years old) in each district are chosen by lottery to fight each other to the death in an arena. The event is called the Hunger Games and is televised for everyone in the Capitol to see; the winning tribute is given food and a life of ease for themselves and their families, along with presents of food and resources for their district. There's only one rule; kill or die

1. SettingThe novel takes place in Panem, a dystopic country built on what was once North America. In a world of limited resources, the despotic government run by the Capitol keeps its citizens in line by separating them into Districts and reinforcing severe class separations.2.ProblemThe novel begins on the day of the "reaping," when each District must select two tributes, one male and one female, to represent their distric in the Hunger Games. When Prim (Katniss little sister) is selected as the female tribute, Katniss offers herself as volunteer and she is allowed to serve as tribute alongside Peeta, a middle class boy from the district 12.The Hunger Games details the adventure of Katniss Everdeen, who is forced to engage in a fight-to-the-death tournament against other children and she promissed to win the games for her sister Prim, what means be the last tribute alive, That promise gets hard to her when Petta confesses during a live interview that he has a crush on Katniss.3.SolutionKatniss and Peeta both win the 74th Hunger Games by threatening to eat the Nightlock berries. Katniss and Peeta return home and she has to face the reality that she was only playing a game with Peeta's affections or emotions. Of course, that game kept them both alive.4.ReviewI think this book was amazing because it makes you want to read more and more, also it has action, drama, fantasy, and suspense.
