The Holocoust

The Holocaust was the murder of approximately six million Jews by the Nazi regime and its collaborators. "Holocaust" is a word of Greek origin meaning "sacrifice by fire." The Nazis, who came to power in Germany in January 1933, believed that Germans were "racially superior" and that the Jews were "inferior," and were an alien threat to the so-called German racial community. The way the Nazis decided to deal with this was the " Final soloution''. The Final solution was the deportaion of jews to concentration camps letting the Nazis controll the jewish population and commiting genocide. The concentration camps were located behind enemy lines letting them kill many of their prisoners and the jews were treated badly in the camps.During the final solution when the Nazis invaded Russia the sent mobile killing units that killed jews in russia. Before the final sollution over one million jews were murderdand put in ghetos.

Manhattan project

There were two sides of the war the Axis and the Allied powers the axis involved Germany,Japan,Italy, and Russia (later to leave after Adolf invades Russia and breaks the treaty of versailes). The allied powers were the United States, France, Great britan, and later on Russia.the allied powers werecapable of mass production and could fight back while the Axis power had some supplies cut off and their goverment and people were broke during and after the war.

The Manhattan project was the resarch and developement of the first atomic bomb by the united states and supported by Cannada and the United Kingdom. From 1942 to 1946 the project was led by General leslie groves of the U.S army einginers. Over 90% of the cost was to make factories and resources. The atomic bombs (Fat man, and Little boy) were finally droped in 1945 on August 6th and 9th.

Over 320,000 were killed including 5,000 Romas that were sent to the gheto. Only three jews escaped the prison and it was only when the germans started to flee and the three fought them and live.

Over 1,000 British bombers flew over and bombed german AA(Anti aircraft) guns and heavy fortifications. As this happend Cannadian's, American's, and British forces landed on the beach and were meet with heavy resistance from enemy mg fire but manged to push them back. A group of young black Americans who would become known as the Tuskegee Airmen were full of patriotic zeal and eager to serve in the military. What set them apart was that they wanted to fight the enemy as pilots, something that black people had never been allowed to do before. Many applied to U.S. Army Air Corps (USAAC) flight training program, but all were initially rejected because of the color of their skin – all branches of the U.S. military were deeply segregated. Under pressure the president alowed them to serve and they were stationed at Tuskegee airfield in Alabama. The tuskegee airmen were very succesful and flew countless missions. The captain Benjamin O. Davis Jr, is buieried in arington cemetery in washington D.C.
