August 19, 1934Hitler Abolishes the Office of PresidentHitler breaks down the Office of President and appoints himself the Führer of Germany. This means that Adolf Hitler is now total dictator over all of Germany and all laws are put into his hands.

May 10, 1933Book BurningOver 250,000 books were burned in Opera Square by university students. This was called a fire oath and was to rid Germany of 'foreign' influences.





June 6, 1944D-DayUS, British, and Canadian troops land in Normandy France under command of General Dwight D. Eisenhower. Operation "Overlord" was held back by the Germans for six weeks. Allied forces then broke out and liberated northern France.

September 1, 1941The Jewish BadgeDeclared by Richard Heydrich, all Jews over the age of 6 were to wear a yellow star of David, inscribed with the word Jude, or Jew in German. Adlof Hitler later used these badges to control movement and segregate the Jews.

December 7, 1941Attack on Pearl HarborJapan launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, severely damaging amd halting interference with Japanese and German military advances. The United States declared war on Germany and Japan and slowly regained air and naval superiority over Japan.
