Circulatory SystemThe heart is a part of the circulatory system. The circulatory system is an organ system that helps transfer substances to and from the cells of the body. It also helps regulate the body's temperature and pH.
The heart is a complex organ. It is a muscle. All of the blood in the body flows through the heart to recieve oxygen. The heart is divided in 4 chambers, the right atrium, right ventrile, left atrium, and left ventricle. The blood enters the heart on the right side through the superior and posterior vena cava and exits through the aorta to the rest of the body. The valves within the heart keep the blood from flowing backwards.
