The Great Wall of China

Before bricks were used the Great Wall was mainy build from stones, earth and wood. During the Ming Dynasty bricks where mostly used as well as tiles lime and stone.

Acording to reseachers the Ming wall that measures at 8,850 km is the longest section of the Great Wall of China.

What materials did they use to build the Wall?

The walls where first built to protect different dynastys. Untill all of the walls were joined together to defend China from Mongolia.

Emporer Chu (11th century) was the first to build a wall. Followed by more dynastys including Qi, Yan, Wei, Zhao and Qin who connected all of the walls into one.

The wall was constucted in many different ways depending on the year. For example in the early years of the building matrieals like rocks and dirt where used.
