“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”
Conflict: I believe that it is between Gatsby and himself, how he longs to be exactly what society and Daisy wants, getting away from his background, yet trying to relive his past.
Setting: Long Island in the early 1920s, at the height of wall street.Themes: Love, Loss, Isolation, and Society and Class.
You are Nick Carraway, who lives next to the mysterious Jay Gatsby(protagonist) .
Jay Gatsby: A mysterious rich man who has huge parties all of the time. Has a lot of charisma and I feel like he truly cares about people.
