The Great Gatsby : Catherine Gudiel

Just an OpinionPersonally I think the film “The Great Gatsby” was more compelling and interesting than the novel. The movie was absolutely great, incredibly amazing. The movie contained so much drama and tension compared to the book. The book is somewhat confusing and complicated to understand but the movie is very comprehendible. The movie contained artistic features thus it created and effect and sense that was intriguing to the mind and eye. The quality, characteristics, and features that the movie contained gave different moods and ideas. Plus the music that was added gave you the feeling that you were actually and the movie increasing the rigidity. The scenery was gripping while the novel was uninteresting and contained too much phrasing and it was hard to imagine it in your mentality.

The Great Gatsby; A Glimpse to Glory

Old Money by Lana Del Rey

A glimpse to what theGreat Gatsby is really about.

What a Theme! The novel itself had a lot of themes. The themes went from small details put in the movie to large action scenes. There was a lot of drama and action, the movie did as well put a little more detail to some of the scenes from the book. As in the book there were small backgrounds that you ought to think wouldn’t be found in the film. “We were listening to the portentous chords of Mendelssohn’s Wedding March from the bawl room below”. (pg.127) In the movie while Gatsby and Tom were arguing these same bells were being heard in the background. As also the theme of dramaticness was brought up in the movie very well .”Oh you want to much!” she cried to Gatsby. “I love you now isn’t that enough? I can’t help what's past”. (pg.132) In the movie Daisy puts so much heart and potential into the words. this makes you realize that director put time into creating the scenes dramatic.

An American DrEAM, A Love AffairWe all have an American Dream. As well for Gatsby he tried to live his dream at his highest potential.Gatsby may seem to be the perfect image of a man who is respectful and caring, a man that became rich. The oxford man in West Egg who threw the grand parties the mistress went to but in reality he was running away from his past. “Just why these inventions were a source of Satisfaction of James Gatz of North Dakota isn’t easy to say”. “ His parents were shiftless and unsuccessful farm people- his imagination had never really accepted them as his parents at all”. (pg.98) Gatsby didn’t want to live and be a poor farmer, he strived for the best. With a couple of lies his whole world spun around and he became the man of his dreams. But that wasn’t all, he was looking for that girl had him going crazy for five years. That girl that he once hoped would show up at his luxurious parties. “Your wife doesn’t love you”, said gatsby. She never loved you. She loves me”. (pg.130) Gatsby did all these marvelous things for Daisy, he is totally in love with her. Gatsby did everything and anything to be what he wanted to be and to get what he wanted.
