The Great Barrier Reef

The great barrier reef is home to thousands of marine animals, this includes different species of turtles, sea snakes, fishes and other marine animals

The great barrier reef stretch along the northeastern coast of Australia.CNN labeled it one of the seven natural wonders of the world.It is the world's largest structure made by living organisms and was built by billions of tiny organisms known as coral polyps.

Stuff like polutions, climate change, and over fishing usually are the most common threats to the reef. The other threats that doesnt usually happen are shipping accidents, oil spills and tycoons.

Divers use an under water camera to video tape what they fiind and they use a bright flash light to help them see. Most of the great barrier reef is now in a protected marine reserve. Marine biologist also make sure that human acticities dont harm the reef.

The reef is a buitiful place to visit, it is especially very popular for scuba divers. About two million people visit the reef each year and make about two billion dollar a year.
