The first Thanksgiving meal consisted of deer, corn, shellfish, roasted meat, and cranberries.
This is what the Pilgrims probably wore at the first Thanksgiving.
The First Thanksgiving
The first Thanksgiving was held in 1621 in present day Plymouth, Massachusetts.
The feast lasted three days, and it was attended by 90 Native Americans (as accounted by attendee Edward Winslow) and 53 Pilgrims.
Turkeys weren't even a part of the first Thanksgiving meal.
This will bea national day of "Thanksgiving and Praiseto our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens."
Thanksgiving became an official federal holiday in 1863.
