Pituitary Gland

The Ovaries are located in females near the Uterus. The Ovaries produce hormones such as Oestrogen, Progesterone and Testosterone. The hormones the ovary produces are responsible for the development of the females sex as oestrogen is responsible for the changes a girl experiences at puberty such as hips widening and progesterone is responsible for preparing the uterus for pregnancy.

The adrenal glands can be found sat on top of the kidneys in the body.A few examples of the hormones the adrenal gland produce and release are cortisol and adrenaline. These type of hormones are released in a response to try and control stress.Eg. Adrenaline is released in a scary situation bringing the 'Fight or Flight' reaction

The pituitary gland is located in the base of the brain and is about the size of a pea. The pituitary gland plays a big part in homeostasis. It produces 9 hormones that all play a part in homeostasis, such as in growth, blood pressure, temperature, etc...Hormones the pituitary gland produce includeOxytocin, Lutropin and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH)

The endocrine system is the network of glands. The glands in the body are all located in different places and produce different hormones for different purposes. The endocrine system secretes hormones straight into the bloodstream (First messenger).
