Named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel.Located in Champ de Mars, Paris
-The tallest structure in Paris-Most visited paid monument -Received its 250 million visitor in 2010-324 meters tall-Held title of tallest building for 41 years-More than 18000 pieces of iron-The Eiffel tower is repainted every 7 years starting in 1986
During WWI it was used to send emergency transmissions.During WWII Hitler ordered the destruction of this symbol of France, however, the order was never carried out.During WWII the French fighters cut the cables of the elevator to defend themselves

The inauguration of the tower was in march 1889Originally the Eiffel tower was temporary and was going to be torn down in 1909, however, the french recognised its potential as a radiotelegraph station.
