The Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower was constructed in 1889, when Paris hosted an Exposition Universelle (World’s Fair). Originally intended as a temporary exhibit, the Eiffel Tower was almost torn down and scrapped in 1909. City officials opted to save it after recognizing its value as a radiotelegraph station.

During WWI, the Eiffel Tower intercepted enemy radio communications, relayed zeppelin alerts and was used to dispatch emergency troop reinforcements. Also, it is an architectural wonder and attracts more visitors than any other paid tourist attraction in the world.

Relation with algebra

Songs:Yelle- Que Veux-tuSinsemilia- Tout le bonheur du monde

This project has a relation with algebra because we first needed to plot points and connect lines in a coordinate. After we did this, we could use the sketch to create the final drawing. Geographers and airliner pilots, use coordinate planes to know exact locations or "points" to plan routes or locate certain objects in a map. Architects also use algebra to find angles and measurements. These examples require algebra and the processes. This is an example on how algebra relates to the real world and to our own lives.
