The Effect of Different Materials on the Melting of Ice

Purpose

The purpose of this expiriment is to find out wich material will melt ice the quickest, salt, garlic salt, vineger, or beet juice.

Hypothisis

The minipulated variables in this expiriment are: The diferent materials used to melt the ice.

Materials

First, put two pieces of ice on each plate approximately the same size. Next, add ½ a teaspoon of each ingredient on to the ice. Then, place all the plates in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Next, measure the amount of melt water with the syringe. (Repeat all the steps at least 3 times.)

My hypothisis is that salt will melt ice the quickest.

My materials are: 1/2 teaspoonVineger, 1/2 teaspoon beet juice, 1/2 teaspoon rock salt, 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt, a syringe a measuring cup, 4 plates, and a bowl.

Results

The Rock Salt did the best in melting the ice the quickest and the Vineger did the worst.

My Hypothisis was correct.
