About the Author

Anne Frank was born in Frankfurt Germany, on June 12, 1929. She was given a diary which inspired her to document her life. The Frank family was Jewish and fled to escape the Nazi party. In addition to the Frank family, four other Jews accompanied the Frank's in hiding for two years. Unfortunately, as the war's began to end, the Frank family was discovered and was immediately sent to a concentration camp. The only survivor was Anne's father, Otto Frank. After the war ended, he then deticated his life to sharing his daughter's diary in hope of people realizing the pain Jews were inflicted upon during WWII.
