The Civil War

In 1863 Abraham Lincoln disseminated the Emancipation Proclamation and the Union defeats Confederacy at Gettysburg. In Vicksburg, Lincoln delivers Gettysburg Address

McClellan denied the pursuit of Lee to Virginia and delivered a fatal blitz to the Confederate army. Lincoln was so infuriated at McClellan for losing the opportunity to cease the war that he fired McClellan in plsce for another general. After terminating McClellan, Lincoln had to go through a few more generals before he finally met Ulysses S. Grant. Unlike McClellan, he knew the essence of time and that his priorities was to end the war as quickly as possible.

Lincoln had rewarded the Union victory at Gettysburg after the war, with a speech in a national cemetery. Although it was short, the Gettysburg Address was quite emotional. Duting Abraham Lincoln's speech, he stated that the Civil War was not only a test for the Union, but iy was for the entire world as it would determine whether a nation developed in democracy could be seen as “long endured.”
