Who?Al Jolson stars in The Jazz Singer. The movie was dirceted by Alan Crosland. The film was produced by failing company Warner Brothers studios but with the recent movie, has saved its buisness.Lee de Forset invented the vitaphone which made the movie possible.

The new film, The Jazz Singer, staring Al Jolson, has become a big hit. Produced by the Warrner Brothers company and directed by Alan Crosland, the talking movie features the vitaphone, which is able to record and play back sounds!

Where/When?The Jazz Singer released in New York on October 6th. The movie was produced in Hollywood, a movie hotspot, from June to August 1927.

What Happened?The first talking movie, The Jazz Singer, premiered in New York, saving the nearly bankrupt Warner Brothers Studio. Al Jolson stared in the movie.

How?Through Lee De Forests research, the vitaphone was produced. The vitaphone allowed people to record voices and be played back through speakers linked with the machine. While the movies were playing, the speakers would run, causing sound.
