The Book of Ezekiel

There are 48 Chapters in the book of Ezekiel

The first chapter starts at 593 BC and the last 8 chapters are in 573 BC

The book of Ezekiel is a prophecy or a parable because Ezekiel and his prophets were messengers of God. They were trying to spread Gods words to the people. This teaches the lesson of listening to God and spreading Gods words has a positive outcome.

First Verse: "On the fifth day of the fourth month of the thirtieth year, I, Ezekiel the priest, son of Buzi, was living with the Jewish exiles by the Chebar River in Babylonia. The sky opened, and I saw a vision of God." Ezekiel 1:1Last Verse: "The total length of the wall on all four sides of the city is 10,080 yards. The name of the city from now on will be “The-Lord-Is-Here!”" Ezekiel 48:35

Jerusalem is PunishedGod got six men to punish Jerusalem along with a man dressed in linen holding something to write with. The Lord told all six men to “Go through the whole city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the forehead of everyone who is distressed and troubled because of all the disgusting things being done in the city.” God let all the other men know that they should follow the six men and kill everyone even the women and children but dont kill anyone that has the mark on their forehead. God said the people of Judah and Israel are guilty of terrible sins. This kind of relates to people today not listening to God. These people didnt question God and did what he said without any struggle. They may not have agreed with what God told them to do but they did it anyway since it was God telling them to do it. God tells people to be kind to eachother and people are constantly reminded of this but continue to disobey what God tells them to do. We should all listen to what God sets out for us to do right or wrong.

3 Verses with Explanations"As surely as I, the Sovereign Lord, am the living God, I warn you that in my anger I will rule over you with a strong hand, with all my power"Ezekiel 20:33This shows that if i were to disobey God or not appreciate him. He has the power to rule over me with all of his power and punish me"I will take firm control of you and make you obey my covenant"Ezekiel 20:37 God will chose to control me if i make the wrong decisions in life or not obey his covenant. God is telling the people the consequences of their actions."Then you will remember all the disgraceful things you did and how you defiled yourselves. You will be disgusted with yourselves because of all the evil things you did"Ezekiel 20:43When we do choose to make wrong we will be stuck remembering what we did wrong and will be ashamed of what all the evil we did.
