July 1957- 16-year old Paul McCartney meets John LennonFebruary 1958- George Harrison is recruited to the band after Paul urges him to play the song “Raunchy” to John Lennon on the top deck of a bus in Woolton, Liverpool.August 1960- The Beatles play their first gig at The Indra in Hamburg.January 1962- The Beatles feature on the front page of Mersey Beat.October 1962- The Beatles release their first single, "Love Me Do", introducing The Beatles to a national audience.April 1963- The Beatles release "From Me To You", and in January 1964 they release"I Want To Hold Your Hand" By April, The Beatles have 14 songs in the American Hot 100.February 1964- The Beatles visit New York City for their first US tour - 5,000 screaming fans greet them. December 1965- The Beatles release their sixth album, Rubber Soul and begin to work on a new album to be called Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, but in 1967Brian Epstein (the Beatle-Making Prince of Pop) dies.April 10th 1970- The breakup of the Beatles.
