The Arctic Cordillera
The Coldest of the Cold
The Arctic Cordillera has many different animals, such as, polar bears, beluga whales and snow geese
Arctic fishing trips can last months at sea, and can even be dangerous.Cod, flatfish, and salmonoids are caught.
The north of the Arctic is covered in ice caps, while the south is covered in glaciers.
Large Arctic animals are hunted for food, clothing, as well as tradition and heritage. this is a big part of Inuit culture.
Plants cannot grow in the tundra, but trees with thick hairs that can protect themselves can.
Small rodents are caught in metal wire cages, and used for their fur.
