What do alligators eat?-Fish, Snails, Birds, Frogs, and almost any other mammal that comes to the waters edge.

Once on the verge of extinction, the American Alligator has made a remarkable reconvery. They are no longer on the endangered speices list, but because many hunters mistake alligators for crocodiles, they could be put back on the list in a matter of a few years. Alligators were hunted for their hide, almost to the point of extinction. There are only an estimated five million alligators in the world. Roughly 1.25 million of them live in Florida alone.

Can be found in: Fresh waters, slow moving rivers, swamps, marshes, and lakes.

When prey is too large to eat whole, alligators do the ''Death Roll'' to break their prey into smaller swallow-able pieces. If an alligator can easily rip anything to shreads in a matter of seconds.
