The 12th amendment of the U.S constitution

The Twelfth Amendment has stood the test of time, even though it still doesn’t mention political parties. It indirectly recognizes the existence of parties by providing that electors cast a separate vote for president and vice president.So, it’s no longer a problem if a party’s vice-presidential candidate gets the same number of electoral votes as that party’s candidate for president — which indeed is what normally happens.

Year Amendment was proposed and ratified. The 12th amendment was proposed in the year was approved by the house of reps. with 83 for the amendment and 42 against it. 66% approved.after being ratified by 3/4ths of the states it was then ratified by tennessee and massachusetts. Deleware and conneticut did not ratify this amendment.
