Today in the U.S. we look forward to Thanksgiving. It begins our shopping for the season...Black Friday (biggest shopping day of the year) While most are shopping, others are home watching basketball and/or football games with family and friends.

Celebrated on the 4th Thursday in November. Feast of food including: Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, fall vegetables, cranberry sauce, sweet corn and pumpkin pie. Celebrated with friends, family and parades.
President Washington gives proclamation... "giving thanks for civil and religious liberty, useful knowledge and for God's kind care and His providence". (www.wikipedia.org)
53 Pilgrims and 90 American Indians celebrated their first thanksgiving in the new world. The feast lasted three days.
