The berries were eaten plain by the native americans or with some salmon and eggs.-This plant is threatened, acid rain may be spreading deadly fungus that is attacking dogwood trees in various areas in the northeast.

(3)Adaptations:Bony shell provides protection against predators and injury. Thick scales on the head and limbs protect against injury. Sharp beak to slice vegetationAppearance: it has a domed shell, hinged at the bottom;yellow brown shell marksSize: 4.5 - 7 inchesHabitat: Mesic woodlandsThreats: low reproductive output, habitat loss, removal from wildlifeLife span: 50 years

(1)Banana Slug

(2)Shelf Fungus

(1) Appearance'Size: Bright yellow, sometimes greenish, tan, brownish, white, and some may have black spots. 25 cm or 9.8 inches longHabitat:They have small teeth that are on it's tongue which they use as a file so it can eat its food. Natural leaching of soil elements over time lead to the acidification of the soil. Primary source of acidity comes from the acid precipitation.

The Future of this Biome

According to the WWF Global they've worked with goverments, timber and paper companies, retailers and consumers to save habitats from destruction by making sure they're managed sustainably.

I predict that if us humans dont acknowledge or pay attention to the temperate forest and other biomes then we could possible cause damge to ourself because we use a lot of the worlds resources. We take but we dont give. We should be more informed on how to take better care of our enviorment.
