The First Telephone The first telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell. The first phone call was made on March 10, 1876. This first phone call started the evolution of communication industry. The first phone book came quickly after the first telephone.
Almon B. Strowger invented the rotary phone in 1889. This telephone was easier for people to process numbers and communicates with other people. The rotary was the top telephone until the 1970s.
