Facts:1. 25% of teen mothers have a 2nd birth before turning 20.2. 3 in 10 American teens will get pregnant before age 20.3. There are nearly 750,000 teen mothers every year.4. Your chances of getting pregnant is 1 in 20 every time you have sex.5. Unmarried- 64% chance that your child will grow up in poverty. Married- 7% chance that your child will grow up in poverty.6. 80% of unmarried teen mothers end up on welfare.7. Less than 2% of teen moms earn a college degree by age 30.

Help Change:1. Abstinence- Don't have sex. It will work 100% of the time.2. Contraceptives- Use something to have a lesser chance of getting pregnant such as: a condom, birth control pill, etc.3. Communication- reports show that parents influence their child's decision about having sex, love, and relationships.

Effects of teen pregnancy:1. Medical complications-High blood pressure, anema, premature of baby, etc.2. Emotional Crisis- may try to self- abort the baby or suicide.3. Future- makes it harder to do things you would want to do.4. Education- Very difficult to go to school.5. Drugs- May not stop using drugs, so it hurts the baby.6. Depression- Depression rises due to hormones.7. Money- They will have to worry about if they have the right things they need for a baby.

Facts:8. There were fewer teen babies in 2010 than any year since mid 1940's.9. 9 out of 10 dads won't marry the mother of their baby. 10. You have a 90% chance of getting pregnant in a year for a teen who doesn't use protection11. More than half of teen mothers never graduate from high school.12. The United States has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the western industrailized world.13. Almost 50% of teens have never considered how a pregnancy would affect their lives.14. Parenthood is the leading reason that teen girls drop out of high school.15. Babies of teen mothers will most likley be born prematurely and at a low birth weight, it can cause infant death, blindness, deafness, chronic respiratory problems, mental retardation, mental illness, and cerebral palsy.
