How to Eat Healthy and Lose Weight

Energy Intake -avoid fad diets -design diet plan with realistic goals, smaller portions, and lower fat foods -research high carb moderate fat/ protein, low carb high fat/protein, and low fat/very low fat diets to see if they are right for you

Physical Activity -helps maintain or increase lean body mass and BMR -improves mood, higher quality of sleep, increased self-esteem -minimum of 30 minutes every day -find fun activities you enjoy -work out with a friend

Behavior Modification -modify food and physical activity behaviors -avoid problem/binge foods, shop when not hungry, avoid junk food, eat small meals throughout the day, eating at set times, slow down when eating, log food, share with others, don't punish yourself
